The Maclaren Quest Stroller is another model with mobility and agility over functionality in mind. The brand is well-known in the industry, and their previous city stroller models were among the most popular purchases for years back. Most parents trust the company because their products are more durable, lightweight, and made of premium materials. The weight of this model is only 12.3 lbs, and it’s suitable for children up to 55 lbs. The seat has plenty of room for a large child. You can recline it with one hand. The lowest position is almost flat, meaning that it’s suitable for newborns as well.

The canopy is one of the better we’ve seen so far. It has a panel and a sunvisor. Together they offer more than enough protection from the sun. The storage basket is large, and there’s also a medium storage pocket on the back of the seat.

This is a stroller with small 5″ wheels that make it very agile and maneuverable. Comfort is one of the essential features for a baby, so this model has suspension on all wheels. They are easily removable and replaceable if one of them breaks or comes loose. Also, if you are looking for a compact stroller when folded, this one is as small as it gets. So, even though this model is from 2016, it’s still trendy today. Let’s take a more in-depth look at the features it offers.

Specifications:

  • Weight capacity – 55 lb

  • Stroller weight – 12.3 lbs

  • Seat to canopy height – 27″

  • Handlebar bar height – 42″

  • Wheels – 5″

  • Folded Dimensions – 41.3″ x 9.4″ x 11″

Features

  • Massive Canopy

The size of the canopy is, well, huge. Unlike many other lightweight models, the Maclaren quest didn’t cut back on the canopy. It is medium sized, and it offers UPF 50+ protection. If that’s not enough, a sizeable zipped-in panel combined with the pop-out sunvisor will definitely create plenty of shade for your baby. The panel has two small mesh windows, one on each side, providing better air circulation. Most city strollers have a canopy that’s half this size.

The third, larger peekaboo window is located on the back of the seat. The best thing about the canopy is that it’s completely waterproof! One more thing, it comes with a top-to-bottom rain cover!

  • Plenty of room

With 13″ in width and 18″ in length, your baby or child will have more than enough room to stretch. The height of the seat is 27”, and the maximum weight capacity is 55 lbs. The reclining system has four different positions; the lowest is flat enough even for a newborn. It’s operated with one lever, so you can easily switch between the upright and flat down positions at any time. The materials used for the seat are easily removed and machine washable too.

  • Extra safety features for newborns

The Maclaren Quest stroller has some extra safety features designed especially for newborns. You get a head barrier on top of the seat and a pop-up foot barrier hidden in the leg rest mesh. All you have to do is to attach it to the frame, and your baby will be safely snuggled in the seat.

  • 5-point harness

The harness isn’t padded, but it’s thick and easily adjustable. The center release button isn’t that easy to open, so your kids won’t escape when you turn around for a minute. The buckle opens only when you press it from the front and the back at the same time.

  • Adjustable leg rest

The leg rest has two positions – up and down. It’s handy when you have a small baby because you can even out the seat and give it plenty of stretching space.

  • Tall handle bars

The handle bars are padded with soft foam for an extra grip. They are 42″ from the ground and can’t be adjusted to fit shorter parents.

  • Storage pocket

You can find the large storage pocket in the back of the seat. It can hold small items like your keys, phone, or wallet, but it can also hold something a bit longer, like a baby bottle.

  • Medium underbasket

Compact, lightweight city strollers like this one usually don’t have room for anything in the basket, but this one is pretty decent. You can store a couple of diapers and some other essentials you need inside.

  • Wheels

This model has 6″ wheels made of durable hard rubber. The wheels on the front are swivel, but you can lock them straight when needed. The best thing about these wheels is the maneuverability. You’ll make your way through a busy street or a crowded store like a hot knife through butter! They can also handle some uneven terrain and playground mulch without problems. They can cope with off-road trails, but it won’t be a smooth ride. The aluminum chassis keeps the stroller very stable at all times.

  • All-wheel suspension

The all-wheel suspension is a great feature that makes the ride as smooth as possible for your child.

  • Parking brake

Two link brakes are responsible for locking both wheels in place. They are not flip-flop friendly.

  • Easy to fold with one hand

The folding system is the standard one-hand city stroller system you can see on many different strollers. The automatic lock is located on the bottom, so it could be a little tricky to get it to fold with a child in your hands. Once folded, the dimensions are 41.3″ x 9.4″ x 11″. The weight is only 12.3 lbs, so you can easily carry it over your shoulder.

  • Carry handle and shoulder strap

When you fold the stroller, you can carry it by using the carry handle, or a shoulder strap. It’s so light, you won’t even feel it.

What’s wrong with the product?

  • Location of the peekaboo window

The peekaboo window is located on the back of the seat, which is not that practical at all. You can’t see your child clearly. It would be better if the window was on top of the canopy.

  • A little expensive

The asking price for this model is a little high, but know that it will last once you buy one.

  • No cup holder

We expected a cup holder for the asking price of the stroller.

Conclusion

Having a large stroller with plenty of room for everything you need is great, but when you’re in a hurry running errands, pushing it around all day long isn’t fun at all. The Maclaren Quest will help you take care of your child while you take care of yourself. It’s a lightweight stroller that’s built to last.

It has excellent protection from the sun, a full rain cover so that the rain won’t bother your baby, but it also has all of the other essential features you need to get in and out of a busy area quickly. If that’s something you are looking for, this is the best city stroller for you.
