It is an excellent model for parents who want to remain close to their baby throughout the night, as it makes nighttime parenting much more manageable. The bassinet is best used by babies who are still not capable of rolling over on their own and are under twenty pounds. Due to its light weight and portability, the halo bassinest essentia is ideal for both nighttime and daytime use around the house.

Its 360° swivel and lowering sidewall make it very easy to access. The mesh sides are breathable and allow for great oversight of the baby. The height can be positioned in a way that puts the child at your eye level, thus making the child relax as they’ll know you are by their side.

The bassinet has a patented locking mechanism incorporated into its design. The feature is activated by a gentle touch of the sidewall, after which it automatically returns to the initial position. The swivel allows you to bring the child close to you for night feeds and changes.

Considering that it’s intended only for temporary use, the Essentia is more of a luxury model. However, its convenient features are much appreciated, especially during the night. It has all the critical safety features a parent wants in bedside bassinet.

  • Bassinet weight – 50 lbs

  • Weight limit  – 30 lbs

  • Dimensions   – 35″ x 19″ x 12″

  • Age limit  –  0 to 5 months

  • 360-degree swivel

Arguably one of the most significant selling points of this model is its 360-degree swivel and rotation. Mothers who underwent a C-section and are in recovery praise the feature as it helps them a lot, since their movement is limited.

The Essentia can swivel over your bed, so there is no need to bend over to hoist your baby up. The feature is great for moms who breastfeed as it allows them to keep their baby close for nighttime feedings.

  • Side Wall

Aside from locking them into place, the sides can also be unlocked for the parent to be able to care for the baby more conveniently. This ability takes pressure off your abdomen and back when you are hoisting your baby.

  • Mesh siding

It’s common for a mother to constantly want to check upon their newborn as of the moment they come back home from the hospital. The Essentia was manufactured with precisely that in mind, as it comes with mesh sides that allow you to take a peek whenever you want, without having to get out of bed. It also increases safety, as it allows the baby to breathe through the mesh.

  • Washable Fabric

The fitted, polyester sheet is washable. You can either throw it into the washing machine or wipe it down with a damp cloth. The mattress that comes with the bassinet is entirely waterproof. It is always great to have a waterproof mattress or sheet as babies are prone to making a mess – which cannot be avoided.

  • Alternative to Bed Sharing

Cosleeping is a much more controversial topic than it sounds. While some consider it to be unsafe, others appreciate it as it is a way of bonding and a way of coping with the restless newborn days. This model is an excellent solution for parents who are concerned about the safety of bed sharing, as it neutralizes the additional risk that comes with co-sleeping.

The American Academy of Pediatrics emphasizes the importance of the infant sleeping in the same room with the parents, as it reduces the risk of Sudden Infant Death (SIDS), though not in their bed. The Bassinest is an excellent solution as it fulfills those safety requirements.

  • Assembly

Setting up the model is pretty straightforward. The Essentia consists of a pole, legs, a base, and the bassinet. It is technically portable, although it might be a bit too heavy to move around the house constantly. Most parents choose to leave it in their bedroom.

What’s wrong with the product?

Once your child starts to roll around on their own, you won’t be able to use the bassinet anymore. There is no way to tell when it will happen exactly. Your baby may not start moving around until the fifth month, or they might start rolling over as soon as they reach two months of age.

For some parents, spending a couple of hundreds of dollars on a temporary piece of baby gear might be too much. Sooner or later, it has to be replaced with a crib. That’s why, because of all of its conveniences, this model is more of a luxury than an essential item.

The Halo Bassinest Swivel Sleeper is a unique and exquisite bassinet option. It is a combination of a traditional bassinet and exciting, new features. The possibilities of swiveling it over your bed and lowering the sides to reach your baby without having to sit up are much appreciated by many mothers, but especially those who went through a C-section.

Who wouldn’t love the idea of staying in bed in bed and reaching over to their newborn? Although expensive, the conveniences it offers make this model worth every penny.
